Generally Helpful
Stephen Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People was one of the best-selling books of the 1990s and contains a wealth of practical advice for an aspiring leader. Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini (Collins, 1998) is absolutely the best book in print on persuasion - from one-on-one to mass marketing. For those who want to improve their interpersonal communications, there are two excellent books to choose from; Fierce Conversations: Achieving Success in Work and in Life, One Conversation at a Time by Susan Scott (Penguin, 2004) and How the Way We Talk Can Change the Way We Work by Robert Kegan and Lisa Laskow Lahey (Jossey-Bass, 2001).
